Puget Sound Starts Here is a partnership of cities, counties, state and federal agencies, nonprofit groups, and local organizations dedicated to improving water quality and aquatic habitat in the Puget Sound region. Our focus is on the streams, rivers, lakes, wetlands, and other waterways that flow into Puget Sound, Hood Canal, and the Strait of Juan de Fuca.
Most participating cities and counties are holders of municipal stormwater discharge permits issued in compliance with the federal Clean Water Act. Many of those cities and counties participate in STORM (Stormwater Outreach for Regional Municipalities), a collaboration of stormwater permit holders working together to meet permit requirements and improve our region’s water quality.
Many other participating organizations are members of ECO Net, a network of education and outreach professionals, organized by the Puget Sound Partnership, and representing roughly 470 local organizations. These organizations are committed to working collaboratively to protect and enhance the health and vitality of our Puget Sound home.
